Starr is also auctioning off a Gibson Les Paul he received from guitarist Marc Bolan (see third video below). Harrison played that guitar onstage and on recordings in 19. He acquired a Tennessean-possibly a 1962 or 1963 model-in 1963, while the Beatles were performing their first round of Christmas-themed shows. It’s not clear at this time if the guitar was ever played by Harrison. In addition, the auction will feature a Gretsch Chet Atkins Tennessean guitar gifted to Starr by Beatles guitarist George Harrison (see second video below). In addition to the holiday shows, Lennon played the guitar while recording demos in his home studio before gifting it to Starr in 1968 during the making of the Beatles “White Album.” The guitar is expected to fetch $600,000 to $800,000 on the block. So I think that maybe after the demand for "the original John Lennon guitar" will have been satisfied with the C-series, Rickenbacker could decide to build a new modern 310/ 315/ 320 or 325. If I ignore the historic point of view and the John Lennon connection, there is no doubt that my 325V59 is superior to my 325C64.
In my opinion the problem concerning the 320 and 325 is, that most people buy it because they are after "the John Lennon guitar." It is usually overlooked that the 320/ 325 is a great guitar in itself.
